C S Ellis covers the LE postcodes as well as NN17, NN18 and CV11-13 from our main operating centre at South Luffenham and our satellite depot in Leicester. Established in 1992, PALLETLINE revolutionised the market for palletised freight distribution by creating an innovative and highly efficient hub and spoke based operation.
It is an established truth within UK business that the cheapest and most effective way to deliver individual or small groups of pallets is through a pallet network – but for guaranteed quality and service you must take care which network you choose.

Online POD Enquiry
CS Ellis host an on-line web based order input, job status and POD site called E-Transport Plus. Which is real time linked to the companies ERP systems. All CS Ellis customers are given on request login details to this site, which can be accessed directly through this web page by clicking on the Customer Login tab.
E-Transport Plus allows CS Ellis Customers to directly input and price transport jobs, view there delivery status, and view and print Proof of Deliveries as they become available. Future version of E-Transport Plus presently being developed will also allow our warehouse customers, to view their own stock and print stock/order details reports on-line. E-transport Plus also allows direct linkage to customer ERP systems, allowing the customer to up-load bulk general transport and palletline jobs, in multiple flat file formats directly into the CS Ellis Transport system, saving huge amounts of time for both the customer and CS Ellis.
E-transport plus allows CS Ellis to give a high level of customer service by allowing the customers direct access to information generated via our transport ERP system, this in turn also greatly reduces the amount of time our customers have to spend booking and arranging transport jobs, chasing there delivery states and hunting down required POD’s. Effectively E-transport Plus allows our customers to use our systems and services as an extension to their own business with minimum effort and maximum results.
Deliver Point signature capture:
All delivery drivers in the Palletline network are equipped with signature capture solutions at the delivery point, this coincides with any additionally required customer delivery paperwork which is sent through an internal post system within the Palletline network allowing customer pallets to be delivered alongside their own delivery paperwork if required.
On completion of a signature the details are uploaded real time to the sending depot and the Palletline central computer system allowing the customer, delivering and collection depots immediate access to the signature details which include company and signee name, signature and GMT time stamp with GPRS location.
Scanning Traceability:
The Palletline network used a standardised scanning/bar-coding solution, using the rugged Boston 8500 series scanner with integrated camera, to provide real time pallet tracking from the collection depot through the nightly transfer process to the delivery depot and on to the delivery vehicle.
Each pallet processed through the Palletline network has its own individual identity label ad barcode attached at the collection depot. This barcode and label contains all of the relevant information required to successfully move the pallet through the Palletline network to its delivery destination on time and to each customer’s specific delivery requirements.
Vehicle Tracking:
All CS Ellis delivery vehicles are fitted with latest version of NAVMAN’s fleet management GPS tracking solution. Which enables the CS Ellis Transport and Palletline operatives to run real time track, trace, GPS route planning, monitor and communicate with our Fleet anywhere in the country.
This in turn enables us to run a faster and far more efficient delivery fleet, passing those benefits on to the customer through high levels of customer service driven by accurate delivery schedules, and vehicle routing.

So, how does it all work?
We operate as a hub and spoke system. Think of it like a bicycle wheel. The Palletline Hub is the centre of the wheel with each of our members being a spoke on the wheel. They all join up and work in harmony.
We operate three hubs, our central facility near the NEC in Birmngham and two regional hubs in Manchester and North London. Each regional hub handles consignments for delivery in their area, ensuring we reduce miles travelled and our environmental objectives.
Each member collects freight from their customers and identifies any freight for delivery outside of their local area. They then scan each pallet and trunk all of their network freight to one of our hubs. There each pallet is quality checked, scanned, unloaded and sorted into delivery areas.
Each member then collects network freight which is for delivery in their local area in C S Ellis’s case this would be LE,NN17-18,CV11 and 13 - so effectively they simply exchange freight - and the pallets are scanned and quality checked again before leaving our site.
It all happens overnight. Simple yet very effective.
Freight is then taken back to the local delivery depot, scanned and checked then sorted into delivery areas, making sure that requests for timed deliveries or specific delivery needs are noted.
Deliveries are made, digital proof of deliveries uploaded and you, our customer, can see the delivery information online within moments.
